Pauline Dey Notice

DEY Pauline Ruth 1943-2016
'Paula', resident of Milton Grove, Wigan, passed away on the morning of Tuesday 3rd May, 2016 in The Royal Albert Edward Infirmary from an extreme bronchiectasis & asthma episode after many years of brittle illness.

Born in Alverthorpe, Wakefield, Yorkshire to Mercelle May
Rushworth and married to
Dr Narayan Chandra Dey, M.B, B.S, D.O, F.R.C.S in York, 1965.

Paula dedicated herself to nursing at a young age and spent a
lifetime supporting the vocation. In her youth as ward sister in York until becoming a full time mother - which became a
lifetime commitment - and latterly with her husband Narayan in his General Practice until his retirement.

Paula was a keen artist whose paintings & jewellery adorn many a wall, neck & wrist. She was an enthusiastic and passionate member of the Horus Egyptology Society and visited the ruins of ancient Egypt on several occasions to embrace and deepen her knowledge. She loved dancing and music and extensively travelled the world.

A deeply spiritual and religious lady throughout her life Paula embraced many philosophies and spent her final years at home surrounded by her Christian friends.

Perhaps Paula's most impressive strength was the size of her heart and her seemingly boundless generosity. Her actions, however, touched so many and she leaves a far less colourful world behind her.

Paula is survived by her children; Selina Kumari Dey, Primrose Hill, London, and Nichiless Kumar Dey, Neunkirchen-Seelscheid, Germany & Wigan, as well as her beloved rescue cat Francine. She was predeceased by her mother; Mercelle May Rushworth, born in Montreal, Canada, and her her husband of 40 years, Dr Narayan Dey, born in Chibasa,Kolkata India.
