McLAUGHLIN WILLIAM (Billy) 25th Anniversary

The Day You Went Away

Today's the anniversary of the day that we lost you,
Like many other days, brings special thoughts of you,
Of happy times we shared and caring things you used to do.

And once more, it's a reminder,
That life's road is sometimes rough,
Because the time we shared,
Just wasn't long enough.

We think of things you used to say,
And all that you would do,
At some point every single day,
Our thoughts will turn to you.

Some days we turn and look for you,
With thoughts we'd like to share,
Some days we just can't understand,
The reason you're not there.

Our lives go on without you, but nothing is the same,
We have to hide our heartache when someone speaks your name.
Sad are the hearts that love you,
Silent are the tear that fall,
Living without you is the hardest part of all.

For you were someone special,
Who was thought so highly of,
Who'll always be remembered,
With affection, warmth and love.

So sending thoughts to Heaven on the day that you went away,
And we're standing here at your graveside and believe me when we say,
You'll never be forgotten and every year we shed a tear,
But it's only because we love you and wish you were still here.

Loved and missed always by your wife Josephine, daughters Jackie and Debbie, sons William and Jonathan, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
