MIDDLETON Dorothy At 5.30am on Friday, 28th December, midway between Christmas Day and New Year's Day, Dorothy died as she had lived: happily, with no fuss and full of quiet love for her large family.
She was the mother of three daughters: grandmother to nine healthy grandchildren: and great grandmother to five more children, with a sixth due to be born in Scotland in the spring. Enough for a rugby team from Dorothy's clan!
Dorothy was married to Jim in St George's, Kendal. She died, aged 82, just seven months short of their 60th wedding anniversary.
She leaves behind memories of a life of family joy, and a legacy of 15 young lives for the world. Goodnight Grandma Dorothy: you have more than earned your eternal rest.
Dorothy's funeral service will take place at 11am on Friday 18th January at St James' Church, Taxal.
Family flowers only please. If anyone wishes to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Society, the family would be very grateful. Donations may be sent care of Jeremy Unsworth Funeral Services, 67 Church Road, New Mills, SK22 4NU. Tel: 01663 742772.
