Arthur (Archie) Armstrong Notice
Lifelong Clay Cross resident Mr Arthur (Archie )Armstrong has passed away at Markham Ward, Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 92 years.
He worked as a coal miner at Morton Pit then at Clay Cross Iron Foundry until his retirement.
In his younger days he raced greyhounds, played football and used to play darts and dominoes for a local team. He always liked a bet on the horses and liked to watch football especially Derby County.
Archie was husband to the late Mabel. He leaves his daughter June and her partner John, two grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
The funeral service will take place at Chesterfield Crematorium on Friday September 15th 2017 at 12.50 pm. Family flowers only please, donations to The Alzheimer's Society and Sight Support, Derbyshire.
