Austin Rosemarie (née Lewis) Unlikely I know, but might your mother or gran know of a Rosemarie Austin or Rosie (née Lewis), born 4th June 1941 and lived at Whin Bank, Scarborough. She was the youngest of three brothers and a sister and her father worked for the Navy at the nearby listening station. Rosie attended Falsgrave School and was a member of their choir that represented Scarborough on TV. She also attended Scarborough Art School before moving away to start a new life. Now living in Birmingham she made many friends and raised two lovely daughters, Lara and Imogen from a previous relationship. We met then married in 2002 and retired to Shropshire, but Rosie never forgot her happy childhood in Scarborough. Rosie was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a few years after our wedding and after a long illness she passed away peacefully at the Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury, Shropshire. Her family were all from the New Forest area in Hampshire, but Rosie born in Scarborough had always considered herself a 'Yorkshire Lass'. Sadly, we had planned our move back, but left it too late. If anyone from your family recognises Rosie from all those years ago and would like to say goodbye, she is being cremated at Woodlands, Scarborough, on Thursday 20th September at 2.15pm. Rosie hoped any donations would go either to the Severn Hospice, Shrewsbury, or Oxfam. Thank you for reading this. Husband Tony. Any enquiries to Coop Funeralcare, tel:01723366960
